Hi! I'm Louise-Claire Cayzer , and this is my recipe site- The Vegan Larder. Here you will find seasonal plant-based food that will be loved by everyone, not just vegans!
I love to create delicious recipes for a large vegan and flexitarian audience. My recipes encompass home-cooked goodness, with global cuisine inspiration. I also love to veganise all my old favourite recipes, including some from when I was growing up in Australia (Shout out to my Granny who wrote down SO many goldies) , food inspired by my travels and recipes gleaned from friends from around the world.

I support people in eating delicious, plant based food, or even just getting more vegetables into their diets, by creating delicious, sustainable and kind recipes. I make veganism easy & fun, and 'de-scarify' (new word - I'm going there) plant based cooking. My recipes cover everything from breakfast, easy midweek meals, canapes and cakes, to BBQs, wedding food, Christmas and birthdays! I even have a Christmas recipe book available!
Be sure to head over to my Instagram, Facebook Page, or even Tik Tok for loads more content and plant based food fun.

History of The Vegan Larder.
Way back in 2016 I started out recipe creating and writing about seasonal vegan food and gardening. Back then the website was called "Poppy and the Bees", which has now been morphed into The Vegan Larder. Poppy & the Bees came about because I had just moved to a gorgeous village on the edge of London, and spent a summer digging, growing, picking and then experimenting with cooking all the produce from my garden. I love to cook, in an easy-going, vegetable-focused way, that is tasty, fun and welcoming. This means we have loads of friends come & visit - whether for a Sunday lunch, a party or a whole weekend.
So I found myself scribbling recipes on bits of paper for people to take away, or promising & forgetting to email what I had done... and eventually thought it might be easier to just write a blog about my food & the vegetables we'd grown that inspire the dishes.
In 2018 I met Vanessa through mutual friends. We spent a few weeks chatting, going to vegan events and even a few cooking sessions. We decided that maybe two heads were better than one when creating a new business and our new venture was born!
Over the next 3 years we grew the blog into a successful recipe site, before Vanessa moved on to work on her own business in May 2022.
Through dedication, hard work, and a lot of taste testing, The Vegan Larder has grown and become more than just a blog. I also offer photography, videography, SEO copywriting and recipe creation.
Each week I try to launch at least one new recipe, so be sure to follow me on social, or sign up to my mailing list!
Skills and specialisms: Food Photography, Videography, Marketing, E-commerce, Perfect Pasta & getting the annoying nitty gritty bits done.
Where is Vanessa Now?
Vanessa was one of the co-founders of The Vegan Larder, and has now left to work on her plant based health coaching business, Energise and Thrive Plant Based.
She has a love for experimenting with cooking, veganising traditional dishes and making veganism accessible, easy and rewarding.
Excitingly, she’s brought out her FREE Guide - 5 Steps to Balanced Plant Based Eating which you’re welcome to download.
Of course, all the recipes she has created for The Vegan Larder will remain here for you to access.

Hi Louise Claire, I can't seem to access your ingredients and method for the lentil hummus. I just wanted to know which particular lentils you recommend. We're having your caponata tonight.Looking forward. Fran

Hi Fran!
Oh- The whole recipe has completely disappeared! I'll pop it back up soon. The lentils I used were green lentils, the method is pretty much the same as ordinary hummus!
Hope you like the Caponata! x Louise
