Christmas is a time for indulgence, and this means chocolate. In our case - delicious vegan Christmas chocolate and gifts. There are so many incredible vegan chocolate companies in the UK ranging from artisan and high-end, to mainstream and lower-price. Expect truffles, hand-painted penguins, praulines, walnut whirls, white chocolate, chocolate-covered biscuits and much more! We'll go over stocking fillers, kid-friendly chocolates (also suitable for adults/big kids of course!), artisan selection boxes and adult chocolate gifts.
If you're planning your vegan Christmas food shopping, you may also want to check out our post on how to build the BEST Vegan Charcuterie Board full of our favourite and artisan vegan meat brands.
🎅🏽Stocking fillers
Stockings are a tradition in various parts of the world, and certainly where I live in the UK! You open them on Christmas morning and want something delicious, exciting and perhaps kid-friendly for the stockings. So what are these lovely vegan stocking-filler Christmas chocolate gifts you can buy? *ehem* also suitable for adults!
Kakoa Truffles - their truffle range is divine, with everything from Viennese and Peanut Butter to Cappuccino and Sea Salted Caramel. They use vegan milk in their products, so these taste just like a traditional box of chocolates from pre-vegan days. Their packs of six are small enough for a stocking, and they do larger boxes too! Kids will also love these as they're quite sweet and mylky!
Vego Chocolate Bars - accessible chocolate bars you'll find in many corner shops in the UK, which taste just like your original dairy chocolate bars; mylky, smooth and sweet. They have a Fruit and Nut bar, and even a White Chocolate Almond Bliss bar.
Cocoa Libre Mini Figures - these are just adorable and children love these. They're all gluten, nut and dairy-free! They have mini mylk figures such as penguins and santas & reindeer in beautiful cracker-shaped boxes, which are MELT-IN-THE-MOUTH. They also have slabs of flavoured chocolate, which make great adult gifts. They also have a vegan advent calendar.
Ananda's Round Up - basically a vegan wagon wheel!! They make marshmallow and chocolate products which are also 100% nut free. My Mum adores their Round-Up, and so do I. The cutest thing with Rudolph's face to go in your stocking. They also have a gluten-free one.
Doisy & Dam Chocolate Covered Peanuts - we love this vegan company who emulate some of those old-time dairy chocolates you may be used to like Lindt Lindor and peanut M&Ms. Their Dark Chocolate Peanuts are insanely moorish, colourful and cute. We even used these in our gluten-free easy Tahini Cookies.
HiP Chocolate Gingerbread Bar - started by the grandson of Cadbury, this vegan company is providing delicious oat mylk bars. Their bars are also soy and gluten-free! This Gingerbread one is the ultimate Christmas bar. They even have an oat mylk advent calendar.
☃️For Kids
Not saying kids can't like super dark "adult" chocolate, but there are some super cute and vegan milky chocolate Christmas options out there for kids. Some even on the healthier side, like PLAY in CHOC. These brands have made chocolate in cute shapes and styles that kids will love.
PLAY In CHOC - dairy, nut and gluten-free, and made from high-quality ingredients. Even their packaging is plastic-free. It's at the 'healthy' end of chocolate (with a third less sugar than most brands) with natural cacao ingredients (the pure form of cocoa). Their chocolate literally tastes like a total treat, and kids love it. Their chocolate comes in little domino blocks and sometimes with toys; perfect for kids and those who don't want to grow up!
Cocoa Libre Mini Figures and Chocolate Lollipop - also great as stocking fillers, we love these kid-friendly chocolates. They have many mylky options for kids in the cutest Santa & Reindeer shapes, even in Chocolate Orange flavour. Everything is gluten, nut and dairy-free.
Nomo Mini Cookie Dough Reindeer - NOMO, which stands for Not Missing Out, has incredible chocolates. We just love their Cookie Dough Reindeer, which are only £1 in Sainsbury's, and perfect for kids. I love sticking it in my homemade 4 Ingredient Icecream. This company is also gluten and nut-free.
Ananda's Round Up - basically a vegan wagon wheel!! They make marshmallow and chocolate products which are also 100% nut-free. My Mum adores their Round-Up, and so do I. Kids love this vegan chocolate biscuit treat with Rudolph's face on.
Sainsbury's Free From White Chocolate Snowman - it's so great that Sainsbury's does Free From chocolate, especially white chocolate which I love in some of my cakes like these Raspberry, White Chocolate and Pecan Vegan Blondies. White chocolate has that sweet nostalgic taste, and kids love it in the shape of a snowman!
🌟Artisan Selections
We all need that special box of vegan chocolates to share at Christmas that's upmarket and beautiful. Or to gift to friends, family or colleagues to let them know they're special. Luckily, the vegan chocolate market is not lacking in indulgent artisan options for selection box gifts that taste absolutely divine.
Kind Hearted Chocs - this vegan chocolatier specialises in luxury handmade truffles; the perfect "I love you" gift! This box of chocolates is just perfection with every flavour you expect at Christmas from chocolate orange and cappuccino to peanut butter and strawberries and cream.
Hadleigh Maid Artisan Truffles - this small chocolate company has a large vegan-friendly range, such as beautiful boxes of vegan chocolate truffles with a range of exciting flavours. The product featured in the image above is plastic-free! This has four different truffles; chocolate, raspberry, almond nut and salted caramel. So tasty!
Chococo Vegan Chocolate Box - this company making handcrafted chocolates has the most incredible vegan selection. Beautifully coloured and perfectly flavoured, their vegan chocolate box is irresistible. Includes flavours such as crystallised ginger, vegan honeycombe and fruit and nut cluster.
NOMO Salted Caramels - accessible and sold in many supermarkets, you can easily pick up their divine Salted Caramel Chocolates, which no one will ever guess are vegan. They're also gluten and nut-free.
Anandas Marshmallow Biscuit Selection - basically a delicious selection of vegan wagon wheels (remember them?) but upmarket and artisan from this gelatine-free small business. This Christmas biscuit selection includes mocha, ginger, chai caramel and spiced apple. They also have a gluten-free chocolate-covered biscuit marshmallow box.
🦌For adults
Adults are of course just grown-up kids, right!? So they'll love everything we've suggested for the kids too, but we have some super sophisticated, artisan, upmarket options for aunties, bosses and foody friends. Some of these make gifts in themselves as they're so beautiful. We've also included boozy options!
Chococo Hand-Decorated Penguin and Bauble - such a "WOW" moment when we unpacked these plastic-free stunning products. You'll want to have this Dark Chocolate Penguin out for a while in your living room before eating it as it's so beautiful (and delicious). Their vegan Christmas Bauble has four spiced rum gems inside, making it perfect for those who love boozy chocolates.
Hadleigh Maid Walnut Whirls - I bought these for my Mum and she LOVED them. Creamy and just as a walnut whirl should be. They have a range of flavours in their vegan selection such as Mint and Orange.
Anandas Champagne Strawberry Marshmallows - not chocolate but we couldn't resist including these. Their gelatine-free vegan marshmallows come in beautiful boxes and taste delicious with a hot drink, such as our Energising Vegan Christmas Spiced Hot Chocolate.
Cocoa Libre Dark Chocolate Mint Penguins - just one in their amazing range. These are cute, especially for adults who love being big kids, but have that dark and minty flavour. These are just insanely good and are gluten, nut and dairy-free.
Vego Praulines - available in many healthfood shops, these wrapped pralines are a beautiful gift, or ideal for a sophisticated after-dinner coffee. They melt in the mouth and have that indulgent praline taste.
Kakoa Truffles - the vegan branch of Friar's Chocolate has a huge selection of vegan truffles made from mylk chocolate. They're sweet and indulgent and there's a flavour for everyone. We're in love with these. We highly recommend their Viennese and Cappuccino Truffles.
