❓What is Silken Tofu?
Silken tofu is is a soy product that is much more soft and 'silky' than regular firmer tofu. Firm and silken tofu are made from the same ingredients (mostly) but are processed slightly differently, giving different textures. Silken tofu breaks apart in your fingers making it ideal for things like tofu scramble. It's not used as a meat replacement in the way a lot of firmer tofu might be, as it's so soft.
Silken tofu is a great ingredient as it's often a long-life ambient product (that means it doesn't need to be in the fridge, unless opened). This means you will often find silken tofu in a different part of the store to firm tofu (which is generally in the fridge section). I buy mine in bulk, and love Clearspring's Organic Silken Tofu. Some recipes will call for firm silken tofu or even extra firm silken tofu so never a bad idea to have these in your cupboard (they last for ages!).
🍰Cheesecake Recipes
Cheesecake is one of my favourite desserts, and I've got some fantastic silken tofu recipes here! Who doesn't love that creamy cheesecake filling contrasting with the biscuity base?! Tofu is a fantastic ingredient to make it creamy but also give it a protein kick. If you ever need a soy-free recipe, we recommend our Lemon and Strawberry Cheesecake.

🍳Eggs & Breakfast Recipes
Probably the best known of silken tofu recipes is scrambled tofu. Super easy to make, and a very filling breakfast. But we also have shakshuka, pancakes and even breakfast pizza. Don't forget the nutritional yeast (affiliate link) which is in a lot of these recipes to give that extra cheezy, nutty flavour.

🥧Quiche & Frittata Recipes
Quiche and frittata don't have to made with eggs! In fact, silken tofu is the perfect replacements in these recipes as it gives the same texture and lots of protein. Most of these are also made with chickpea flour (also known as gram flour) (affiliate link).

🥒Dips & Spread Recipes
These recipes use silken tofu often in place of cream, nuts or oil, which is great for people with allergies (and reduces the calories!). Many of these sorts of dip recipes use apple cider vinegar (affiliate link), which is great for salad dressings and is super healthy!

🍽️Dinner Recipes
So many great silken tofu recipes that make delicious filling meals, especially of the South-East Asian persuasion (one of my favourite areas of the world for food). You'll likely need soy sauce for these recipes. Or use tamari which I often for as it's a lower sugar (and gluten free) version of soy sauce.

Ahhh, the lighter and healtheir silken tofu recipes. These soups are packed with nutrition, despite being light, and are great for those colder days. I take my soup on the go if I have a full day out the house. I actually have two of these thermos flasks - one for my soup and one for smoothies!
